Yangju City Conducts Joint 'Disaster Response Safe Korea Drill' with Related Organizations

Yangju City in Gyeonggi Province conducted the 2025 Disaster Response Safe Korea Drill on the 23rd, jointly with related organizations to strengthen the disaster response capabilities of disaster management agencies.

This drill was held at the Yangju Culture and Arts Center, simulating a large-scale fire and an accident at a multi-use facility. Approximately 200 participants from 12 related organizations and groups, including Yangju City Hall and Yangju Fire Station, took part in the exercise.
The drill was carried out in an integrated and coordinated manner, with scenarios unfolding simultaneously at the Yangju City Hall situation room and the Yangju Culture and Arts Center. Yang Soo-hyun, Mayor of Yangju City, presided over the exercise as the head of the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters, overseeing prompt initial response and inspecting the cooperation system among related organizations.
In addition, Kim Jeongil, Deputy Mayor of Yangju, served as the head of the On-site Integrated Support Headquarters. Immediately after the emergency response phase, he took over command from the Yangju Fire Station and led the recovery operations at the disaster site, thereby establishing a seamless disaster management system from initial response to recovery.
