Wild Vegetable Tasting Event Receives Enthusiastic Response from Tourists

The Ulleung County Saemaeul Women's Association (President Park Myungsook) held a local wild vegetable tasting event on October 24 at Dodong Port Small Park (Seaside Park), promoting Ulleungdo's excellent local cuisine to tourists visiting the island.

The event was attended by more than 50 members of the women's association, including Ulleung County Governor Nam Hankwon, Lee Jungho, President of the Ulleung County Saemaeul Association, and Park Myungsook, President of the Saemaeul Women's Association. They showcased a variety of mountain vegetable dishes made using local agricultural and specialty products.

This tasting event featured dishes prepared by stir-frying and seasoning wild vegetables native to Ulleungdo, such as Chamgobi, Samnamul, Bujigaengi, Miyeokchwi, Deodeok, and Myeongi. The healthy flavors, crafted from Ulleungdo's pristine nature, were met with an enthusiastic response from tourists.

One tourist who participated in the tasting event said, "It was special to taste wild vegetables harvested directly from Ulleungdo," adding, "The generosity and flavors of Ulleungdo will remain in my memory for a long time."

Governor Nam Hankwon stated, "This meaningful event revitalized the local economy by utilizing Ulleungdo's local resources and helped introduce the island's charm to visitors. We will continue to actively promote the excellence of Ulleung County's agricultural and specialty products."
