Korea Institute of Local Administration Discusses Next Year's Operational Plan and Quality Advancement
Exploring Ways to Enhance the Reliability and Quality of the Local Investment Project Management Center
The Korea Institute of Local Administration (President Yook Dongil) held the "2025 Local Investment Project Management Center Advisory Committee" meeting on October 24 at the aT Center in Seocho-gu, Seoul. This advisory committee was convened to review the Center's major achievements for 2025 in celebration of its 11th anniversary, and to discuss the operational plan and improvement measures for 2026.

At the opening ceremony, Yook Dongil, President of the Korea Institute of Local Administration, stated, "Ensuring the rationality and transparency of local investment projects is a core foundation for balanced regional development," and added, "Based on the experience accumulated by the Center over the past 11 years, we will further advance the functions of feasibility studies and investment review quality management."
Kim Donggun, Chair of the Advisory Committee and Professor Emeritus at Seoul National University Graduate School of Public Administration, emphasized, "Local investment projects are directly linked to the quality of life of the people, and it is essential to establish a scientific basis and a responsible management system."
Kim Namjoo, Director of Planning at the Local Investment Project Management Center, presented the "2025 Performance and 2026 Implementation Plan," outlining key initiatives such as advancing the quality management system for feasibility studies and investment reviews, strengthening the functions of contingent liability management, consulting, and education, and establishing a management system for local investment projects.
Based on the opinions presented at this advisory committee, the Local Investment Project Management Center of the Korea Institute of Local Administration plans to further specify the 2026 business plan and strengthen the revision of guideline research to advance the pre-management and feasibility studies of investment projects by local governments. In addition, the Center aims to enhance the efficiency and accountability of local finances by expanding its cooperation system with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and related organizations.
