Song Seokjun, a member of the People Power Party and a director of the Korea-US Parliamentary Exchange Council, delivers the opening address at the 16th Harry Truman International Conference held at the National Assembly Members' Office Building in Yeouido, Seoul, on October 24. Marking its 16th edition this year, the conference is an international event commemorating the achievements of Harry Truman, the 33rd President of the United States from Missouri, who contributed to strengthening Korea-US relations and friendship during the Korean War. The conference has been held alternately every two years in Korea and at the University of Missouri in the United States. This year’s conference, co-hosted by the Korea-US Parliamentary Exchange Council and the University of Missouri, focused on the theme of 'Korea-US Cooperation for Change, Innovation, and the Future,' and included discussions on the development of democracy, nuclear energy, artificial intelligence (AI), and other areas of scientific and technological collaboration between Korea and the United States.
