Nowon District has been promoting exhibition projects based on local culture every year under the theme of “Encountering Art Everywhere in Everyday Life.” This time, four exhibitions are being held simultaneously, ranging from solo shows by promising next-generation artists to collaborative exhibitions.

The first floor of the district office has been transformed into a multipurpose cultural space. At the Nowon Desk Gallery inside the building, the invitational exhibition “What Dreams Did We Have Back Then?” by 21 artists from the Korean Hanji Paper Doll Art Association will be held until November 7. A total of 48 hanji paper doll works themed on traditional games, family, and daily life, as well as a collaborative piece titled “Nongak Nori,” are on display, and can be viewed throughout the first floor, including the temporary stage, book lounge, and in front of the elevators.

At the Gyeongchun Line Forest Trail Gallery, a solo exhibition by Lee Seoyeon, who was selected for Nowon District’s Creative Support Project, titled “How the Tree Fern Stays Dry in the Rain,” will run from October 24 to November 25. Through works that reinterpret everyday objects and landscapes with free brushstrokes, visitors can experience the delicate sensibilities of a young artist.

At Sanggye Art Madang, “Doongdoong Pareureu Hilkkeum” has been held since October 22 and will continue until November 14. Four artists-Kim Gukhwa × Lee Byungseon, Park Sohyun, Shin Dongmin, and Jeong Jaebeom-who were selected for the 2025 Nowon Visual Arts Support Project exhibition division, visually expressed inner human emotions such as “existence and disappearance” and “shyness and the desire to speak.”

At the Jeongdam Cultural Space, the collaborative exhibition “Majungmuljeon: From.” is underway until November 1. Sixteen artists are participating, expressing a variety of emotions such as joy, sorrow, comfort, and anxiety through visual art, and the exhibition is designed as an interactive experience where visitors can empathize and participate.

Oh Seungrok, Mayor of Nowon District, stated, “This exhibition was planned so that people can naturally encounter art on their way to work or while taking a walk, without having to set aside special time,” adding, “We will continue to expand the cultural and artistic environment in everyday life, making Nowon a place where culture permeates daily routines.”
