Kim Dongyeon, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, is embarking on a business trip to the United States to attract investment.
On October 24, Gyeonggi Province announced that Governor Kim will visit Boston and Washington, D.C. from October 26 to November 1 to attract foreign investment and expand diplomatic outreach.
This marks Governor Kim's fifth visit to the United States. He has previously worked on expanding Gyeonggi Province’s economic territory by attracting investment from global companies, building innovative alliances, increasing opportunities for young people, and negotiating tariff issues.
During this trip, Governor Kim will once again actively engage in diplomacy with the United States and in investment attraction activities.
In Boston, he will meet with business leaders from the World Korean Business Convention, as well as young Korean scientists, engineers, and entrepreneurs who play key roles in the fields of bio, artificial intelligence (AI), and climate tech, to discuss ways to promote exchange and cooperation with Gyeonggi Province.

In addition, he will sign an investment memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Company E and hold investment consultations with Company A and Company S to encourage them to make direct investments in Gyeonggi Province.
After moving to Washington, D.C., he will attend a "think tank conference" jointly hosted by the Center for the National Interest (CNI), the Korean Association for Policy Studies, and the Gyeonggi Research Institute, where he will deliver a keynote speech on the theme "Gyeonggi Province: The Engine Driving the Korea-U.S. Alliance."
This event is expected to provide an opportunity for discussions with key U.S. think tanks and academic figures on global issues such as U.S. tariff response strategies, inter-Korean relations, AI, and the bio industry.
In particular, he will meet with Scott Snyder, President of the Korea Economic Institute, and major members of the U.S. House and Senate to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation in the Korea-U.S. alliance.
