L&K Biomed Participates in U.S. CHKD-Hosted Chest Wall Conference

L&K Biomed announced on the 24th that its U.S. subsidiary, Aegis Meditech, participated in the “NUSS Advanced Pectus Course 2025” held at Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) in Norfolk, Virginia, from October 22, promoting its “Pectus” product.

The conference is a prestigious educational program co-hosted by the world-renowned pediatric chest wall reconstruction center, Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters, and Eastern Virginia Medical School. Dr. Donald Nuss, the founder of the Nuss Procedure, personally participated to provide education on the latest chest wall correction techniques and related technologies to thoracic surgeons from around the world.

Since its first event in 2003, the Pectus Course has grown into an international educational program attended annually by chest wall deformity specialists worldwide. This year marks its 23rd edition. The 2025 program included theoretical lectures by leading chest wall deformity surgeons from across the United States, hands-on workshops with the latest instruments and technologies, practical discussions on establishing pectus programs and optimizing patient experience, and expert panel discussions on unique surgical cases.

As a speaker at the conference, Dr. Franklin Magallon led a session on surgical approaches to chest wall deformities and gave a lecture on the correct use, theory, and pre- and post-operative effects of L&K Biomed’s “Pectus Implant” product.

Dr. Jamie Golden was in charge of the session on sternal elevation (a surgical technique to lift the sternum), where she introduced the company’s “Pectus Sternum Screw” product.

Dr. Franklin Magallon, who actively uses L&K Biomed’s “Pectus Implant” product, explained, “Both medical professionals and surgical patients are highly satisfied with the Pectus product.”

A representative from L&K Biomed stated, “We attended this conference to promote the Pectus implant for pectus excavatum and to support the expansion of safe surgical techniques.”

The representative added, “L&K Biomed will continue to actively develop and operate various educational programs to teach safe and accurate surgical methods and proper product use, so that medical professionals in Korea and abroad can provide safe surgeries for their patients.”
