The Gyeonggi Tourism Organization has signed agreements with six medical tourism agencies in Mongolia.
On the 23rd, the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization announced that it had entered into business agreements with six leading local medical tourism agencies in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, in collaboration with the Gyeonggi International Medical Association. The organization also held a promotional briefing session to promote Gyeonggi’s medical tourism, marking the start of its efforts to pioneer the market.
Under this agreement, the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization and the six Mongolian medical tourism agencies will closely collaborate in the following areas: promotional marketing to raise awareness of Gyeonggi-do’s medical tourism in the Mongolian market; development and attraction of high value-added medical tourism products utilizing Gyeonggi-do’s diverse content; revitalization of tourism exchange and cooperation between Gyeonggi-do and Mongolia; and fostering the development of a sustainable tourism industry and leading global tourism trends.

Jo Won-yong, President of the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization, said, “With the continued global spread of the Korean Wave, including K-Pop Demon Hunters, demand for K-medical tourism is also rapidly increasing. We will strengthen cooperation with Mongolia, one of the key markets for attracting medical tourists, and actively promote the province’s excellent medical services and tourism resources to accelerate the attraction of high value-added international visitors.”
According to data from the Korea Health Industry Development Institute, the number of Mongolian patients visiting Korea in 2024 reached approximately 25,000, an increase of 16.5% compared to the previous year, showing a continued upward trend.
