Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance announced on the 24th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Yeongdeungpo-gu Office, social enterprise Elephant Factory, and nonprofit organization Root Impact for the construction and operation of the Eoulsup Cultural Shelter and I-Mind Playground.
The I-Mind Playground is a flagship social contribution project newly launched by Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance in celebration of its 70th anniversary. In collaboration with local governments, the initiative aims to create an open community space for children and caregivers, fostering an environment where various generations in the local community can come together and grow. This is a public-private partnership project.
Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the 23rd at the Planning Situation Room of the Yeongdeungpo-gu Office main building, located in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, with Yeongdeungpo-gu Office, social enterprise Elephant Factory, and nonprofit organization Root Impact for the construction and operation of the Eoulsup Cultural Shelter and I-Mind Playground. Through this agreement, a community facility will be established within Eoulsup Neighborhood Park in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, and program operations will be supported for the next three years. This goes beyond simply building a facility; it is significant in that it aims to realize a sustainable local caregiving community model. Specialized operating organizations such as Root Impact and Elephant Factory will participate to provide high-quality programs for children and caregivers.
Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance will provide financial support for the construction and operation of the facility, while Yeongdeungpo-gu Office will be responsible for policy and administrative support necessary for project implementation. Elephant Factory will handle the construction of the facility, including design and building, as well as subsequent program operations. Root Impact will be in charge of project planning and research.
The signing ceremony was held on the 23rd in the Planning Situation Room of the main building at Yeongdeungpo-gu Office, attended by Jung Kyungsun, Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) of Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance; Choi Hogwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu; Heo Jaehyung, CEO of Root Impact; Lee Chaejin, CEO of Elephant Factory; and other officials from each organization.
CSO Jung Kyungsun stated, "As the leading company in children's insurance, Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance strives to be a healthy and happy partner in parenting," adding, "We hope that the I-Mind Playground will become a new hub that not only serves as a play space but also fosters a nurturing culture where children, caregivers, and the local community come together."
