Applications Accepted Until October 31
Current Distribution Rate at 96%
Jeongeup City in North Jeolla Province has urged residents to apply quickly for the second round of the Recovery of People's Livelihood Consumption Coupon, as the application deadline is just about a week away.
According to the city on October 23, this initiative is a policy aimed at reviving the local economy and targets citizens excluding the top 10% income bracket. Currently, the coupon distribution rate stands at 96%.
The city is making every effort for citizens who have not yet received their coupons, including offering an "on-site application service."
Applications can be submitted through the credit card companies' online websites or by visiting the Eup, Myeon, and Dong Administrative Welfare Centers. Those who do not apply by October 31 will not be able to receive the coupons.
To increase the distribution rate, the city is operating the "on-site application service," which has received positive feedback. Staff from the Eup, Myeon, and Dong Administrative Welfare Centers visit citizens who have mobility issues or difficulty visiting in person and assist them with the application process.
Efforts are also being made to boost the coupon usage rate to match the distribution rate. So far, citizens have used 74% of the distributed consumption coupons. To encourage further usage, the city is running a "Recovery of People's Livelihood Consumption Coupon Usage Event" until October 24.
Residents who post a review with a photo of their coupon usage on the city hall website or social media will be entered into a draw to win vouchers for chicken, hamburgers, or coffee.
Mayor Lee Haksoo stated, "The Recovery of People's Livelihood Consumption Coupon is not just a form of support, but a catalyst for creating a virtuous cycle in the local economy," and urged, "Please ensure that all citizens receive their consumption coupons by the deadline on October 31."
