NH Nonghyup Bank Introduces Banking Industry's First 'Internal Control Specialist' Certification System

3,521 Employees Receive Certification

NH Nonghyup Bank announced that it has become the first in the banking sector to introduce an internal control specialist certification system and has conducted qualification certification.

After more than a year of preparation, NH Nonghyup Bank established its own internal control specialist training system, the 'NH Internal Control Specialist' certification program. Beginning in August this year, the bank granted the 'NH Internal Control Specialist Level 3' qualification through eight weeks of self-directed learning and online assessments.

Through this first-stage certification evaluation, a total of 3,521 Level 3 internal control specialists have been trained. The main curriculum includes financial accident prevention and internal control, regulatory compliance and internal control, and financial ethics. The program also features case studies of recent major financial accidents, enabling in-depth learning about accident prevention measures and internal control systems.

NH Nonghyup Bank plans to actively expand the system by introducing Level 2 and Level 1 certification programs in 2026 and 2027, respectively.

Kang Taeyoung, President of NH Nonghyup Bank, stated, "Strengthening not only our systems but also the internal control capabilities and awareness of each employee is key to accident prevention," adding, "We will use the implementation of this certification system as a foundation to further our efforts in building a company-wide culture of internal control."
