Signed MOU with UNHCR
Reducing Complaint Drafting Time and Improving Accuracy
"Solving Various Industrial and Social Issues with AI"
LG CNS is partnering with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to develop and donate a legal support program for refugees utilizing artificial intelligence (AI). This marks the first case in Korea of using AI technology to assist refugees who lack access to legal services.

LG CNS and UNHCR recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on "AI-powered support for refugee litigation" at the LG CNS headquarters in Magok. The signing ceremony was attended by Hyun Shingyun, CEO of LG CNS, and Filippo Grandi, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, among others.
This agreement aims to enhance the legal protection available to refugees in Korea through AI-based solutions and to support lawyers in their work on refugee litigation.
LG CNS will develop a program that enables lawyers to use AI to draft initial complaints when refugees file administrative lawsuits. Separate AI agents will be developed to analyze asylum applications and interview records, provide multilingual translation, and draft legal documents. Agentic AI will then integrate these functions, allowing the automatic preparation of complaints in the correct legal format.
LG CNS plans to use its agentic AI platform, "AgenticWorks," to build this program. In the past, many refugee applications were rejected due to language and cultural barriers, complicated procedures, missing information, and insufficient legal grounds.
However, with AI technology, lawyers will be able to input essential information and legal grounds required for review more accurately, and the time needed to draft a complaint-which previously took at least three to four days-will be significantly reduced. LG CNS aims to contribute to providing practical solutions to the challenges faced by refugees through this program.
Filippo Grandi, High Commissioner, stated, "Through this collaboration, we hope that refugees who have difficulty receiving legal support for various reasons, including language barriers, will be able to get the help they need."
CEO Hyun expressed, "By donating this AI program to protect the legal rights of refugees, we hope to improve the circumstances of those in need. We will continue to address various industrial and social challenges through AI in the future."
