Dongjak-gu Teams Up with Four Religious Groups for "Love Sharing Bazaar"

Proceeds from the Event to Be Donated to Support Young Adults Preparing for Independence

Dongjak-gu in Seoul (District Mayor Park Ilha) will host the “1st Dongjak-gu Religious Love Sharing Bazaar” on October 30 on the first floor of the new district office building, aiming to strengthen interfaith cooperation and promote a culture of sharing.

This event is being organized in collaboration with four local religious organizations-Christianity, Buddhism, Catholicism, and Won Buddhism-and will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The proceeds from the bazaar will be donated to the Community Chest of Korea to support young adults preparing for independence, adding further significance to the event.

The event will begin with a “Religious Love Sharing Ceremony” attended by representatives from each religious group and Park Ilha, the district mayor. This will be followed by a variety of cultural performances, including Buddhist hymns, meditation, a guitar ensemble, harmonica performances, and the “Dongjak Art Live” busking show by young artists, offering a diverse range of attractions.

The venue will feature a total of 20 sales booths offering food, handmade crafts, and souvenirs, as well as unique programs such as bracelet making and tea ceremony experiences. The district will deploy safety personnel and establish a cooperative system with related agencies such as the fire department and police station to ensure the safety of all visitors.

Park Ilha, Mayor of Dongjak-gu, stated, “I hope this meaningful event will serve as an opportunity for religious organizations to practice sharing with neighbors in need,” adding, “We will continue to discover and promote cultural events that residents can enjoy and empathize with together.”
