The 'Gyeonggi Rice Dessert Festa,' where visitors can experience a variety of rice-based desserts made with Gyeonggi rice, will be held at Suwon Convention Center for two days from October 25 to 26.
The Gyeonggi Rice Dessert Festa was first organized by Gyeonggi Province last year to promote the consumption of high-quality Gyeonggi rice.
This year's event will feature a nationwide rice baking competition, a nationwide rice cake dessert competition, and a range of additional activities such as hands-on experiences, exhibitions, and sales.
For the first time this year, both the nationwide rice baking competition and the nationwide rice cake dessert competition will include a new category for small business owners, resulting in two separate divisions alongside the general division.
Gyeonggi Province will also offer hands-on activities at the venue, such as making tiramisu flowerpot cakes and flower jeonpyeon, as well as a birthday party photo zone where visitors can stage and photograph birthday parties, and exhibits featuring bean paste flower cakes and Gyeonggi rice.
There will also be a Master Artisan Promotion Hall featuring renowned food artisans from Gyeonggi Province, as well as a market where visitors can find rice desserts and local agricultural specialties.
Bae Soyoung, head of the Agricultural Food Distribution Division of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "Through the Gyeonggi Rice Dessert Festa, we aim to encourage the development and entrepreneurship of various rice desserts and introduce a wide range of rice dessert products made with Gyeonggi rice, thereby helping to expand the consumption of Gyeonggi rice."
