Cheongdo County Selected for Ministry of the Interior and Safety's "Signboard Improvement Project" Public Contest for Second Consecutive Year

Secured 260 Million KRW in National Funding
Achieved 96% Resident Consent Rate

The "Section 2 Cheonghwa-ro Central Commercial District Signboard Improvement Project," promoted by Cheongdo County (Governor Kim Hasu), has been finally selected for the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's public contest project.

This achievement comes as a result of the positive evaluation of this year's ongoing signboard improvement project, both in terms of resident satisfaction and its ripple effect on the local economy, which led the county to participate in this public contest as well.

During the project implementation process, Cheongdo County continuously communicated with local business owners through the first and second resident briefings and formed a residents' consultative body, securing a high resident consent rate of 96%.

Through these efforts, the county strengthened communication with the local community and established a cooperative project implementation system.

The target area for the Section 2 project is the central commercial district along Cheonghwa-ro, a street with high tourist foot traffic. The county plans to renovate outdated or mismatched signboards and introduce uniquely designed signs that reflect the street's character, thereby further enhancing the urban landscape.

The project is scheduled to be implemented in 2026, covering a section of approximately 830 meters from Haedong Union Clinic to near Saeksi Jewelry.

The improvements will target 111 businesses and include a variety of signboard types, such as wall-mounted, projecting, pole, and window signs.

Kim Hasu, Governor of Cheongdo County, stated, "Based on the valuable achievement of being selected for the public contest for two consecutive years, we will inject new vitality into Cheongdo County's commercial districts," adding, "We will do our utmost to create a beautiful and pleasant street environment for both local merchants and residents through the successful implementation of this project."
