In September, a teenager who was brought in dead with visible bruises was found to have died as a result of her biological mother's assault, leading prosecutors to indict the mother.

The Criminal Division 2 of the Jinju Branch at the Gyeongnam Changwon District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Lee Hyehyun) announced that a woman in her 40s, identified as A, has been arrested and indicted on charges of murdering her own daughter.

According to prosecutors, on September 22, A is accused of assaulting her teenage daughter, B, at a residence in Namhae County, resulting in B's death.

At approximately 4:37 p.m. that day, B was transported to the emergency room of a hospital in Namhae County in her mother A's vehicle, but she was already without breath or pulse upon arrival.

Medical staff at the time discovered multiple bruises and wounds all over B's body and, suspecting foul play, reported the case to the police.

The police investigation revealed that A, who was running a broadcasting equipment rental business while her daughter B was on a leave of absence from university, severely beat her daughter and poured hot water on her, causing scalp lacerations and burns.

It was also found that, despite her daughter's pleas of pain from the violence, A left her daughter unattended in the car for more than two days, which led to her death.

A is known to have been active as both a singer and announcer in Gyeongnam, and also operated a YouTube channel.

A prosecution official stated, "We will do our utmost to maintain the indictment so that the defendant receives punishment commensurate with her crime."
