Millie's Library Releases Six Works Including "Satantango"

On October 22, KT Millie's Library, a reading platform, announced that it will be the first among e-book subscription platforms to offer six major works by Nobel Prize in Literature winner L?szl? Krasznahorkai, including "Satantango."

L?szl? Krasznahorkai, the 125th Nobel Prize in Literature (2025) laureate, is a leading contemporary novelist from Hungary. He is beloved by readers worldwide for his unique writing style and form, which explore apocalyptic themes and sentiments. This year, after winning the Nobel Prize in Literature, his works have seen explosive popularity in Korea, with book sales multiplying several times over and even leading to sell-outs.


Millie's Library is taking the lead among domestic e-book subscription platforms by releasing his major works as e-books. The titles now available include "Satantango," "Melancholy of Resistance," "The Last Wolf," and "The Arrival of the Queen Mother of the West."


Among these, "Satantango" is especially popular. Since its e-book release, it has ranked number one on the "Millie Ranking," and as of October 22, it is the most-read book among female readers in their 20s and 30s. This debut novel by Krasznahorkai won the 2015 Man Booker International Prize and was adapted into a film of the same name by director B?la Tarr in 1994.


Millie's Library plans to add "The World Goes On" and "Baron Wenckheim’s Homecoming" to its offerings on November 10.


Lee Sungho, head of the Reading Hall Division at KT Millie's Library, stated, "This year, there is immense interest in the Nobel Prize in Literature winner and their works. Millie's Library prepared to be the first e-book subscription platform to offer these titles, so more readers can enjoy them without waiting." He added, "This rapid supply of works is the result of close collaboration and communication with publishers since our founding, and it also demonstrates our business competitiveness."
