The National Assembly's Science, Technology, Information and Broadcasting Communications Committee will summon Kim Youngseop, CEO of KT, once again as a witness for the parliamentary audit.
On the 21st, during the parliamentary audit, the committee held a plenary session and passed a motion to additionally summon CEO Kim as a witness for the comprehensive audit scheduled for October 29-30.
On the same day, Reginald Shum Thompson, CEO of Netflix Service Korea, Executive Vice President Jung Kyohwa, Andrew Woo, Head of Public Policy for Asia-Pacific at Netflix, and Huh Wook, Vice President of Facebook Korea, were also selected as additional witnesses for the comprehensive audit.
The committee members plan to ask CEO Kim whether he gave false testimony to downplay or conceal the damages caused by the KT hacking incident.
Netflix executives, including CEO Thompson, are expected to be questioned about deceptive practices toward domestic consumers, while Vice President Huh will be asked about issues related to the social network service (SNS) market, including Facebook.
Wilson White, Vice President of Government Affairs and Public Policy for Asia-Pacific at Google, Hwang Seonghye, Vice President of Google Korea, and Lee Sanghyun, Global Director of Platform Policy at Google Korea, will also be questioned regarding in-app payments and the deletion of YouTube comments.
Additionally, the committee decided to request the attendance of Kim Taeho, Vice President of Samsung SDS, and others to answer questions about the selection of the region for the establishment of the National AI Computing Center.
