Nearly 60% of the government administrative information systems affected by the fire at the National Information Resources Service (NIRS) have been restored.
According to the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters on October 21, as of 6 p.m. that day, 424 out of 709 administrative information systems that had been paralyzed by the fire had returned to normal operation. The system recovery rate stood at 59.8%.
The National Law Information System of the Ministry of Government Legislation, which is classified as Grade 1 due to its high public usage, was among the newly restored systems. Other systems that have been fully restored include the website of the Multifunctional Administrative City Construction Agency, the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s e-Haneul Funeral Information System, the Medical Information Exchange System, the National Data Agency’s Employee Personnel Management System, and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s Policy Mail Service.
By system importance grade, 32 out of 40 Grade 1 systems have been restored, recording a recovery rate of 80.0%. In addition, 48 out of 68 Grade 2 systems (70.6%), 168 out of 261 Grade 3 systems (64.4%), and 176 out of 340 Grade 4 systems (51.8%) have also been restored.
