Damyang County, led by Governor Jeong Cheolwon, announced on the 21st that it held the "World Culture Festival" over two days from the 17th to the 18th at the Damyang Global Culture Center and the Damyang Five-Day Market area.
The event began with a parade featuring migrant women from 10 countries carrying their national flags, followed by a variety of programs including traditional performances from around the world, K-POP cover dance, a world costume fashion show, a global singing contest, and busking performances.
The festival brought together the Damyang Family Center, multicultural families, local merchants, and artists to create a vibrant celebration of global cultures. In particular, the fashion show utilizing traditional costumes from Vietnam, the Philippines, China, and Cambodia-held by the Damyang Global Culture Center-received an enthusiastic response from the audience.
Governor Jeong Cheolwon stated, "I hope this festival will be the first step for Damyang to communicate with the world and become a global stage for cultural exchange," adding, "We will continue to do our best to ensure that the Damyang Global Culture Center becomes a central space for promoting cultural diversity in the region."
