The Ungok Specialized Agricultural and Industrial Complex (hereafter referred to as the industrial complex), which is currently being developed by Gokseong County, South Jeolla Province (Governor Cho Sangrae) to revitalize the local economy, has attracted significant attention from companies at the "2025 Namdo International Gourmet Industry Expo," signaling positive prospects for lot sales and corporate attraction.

According to the county on October 20, tangible results were achieved during the expo, which was held from October 14 to 19, including the acquisition of two letters of intent for occupancy through the promotional booth operated at the event.

This expo, hosted by South Jeolla Province and Mokpo City, is being held at the Mokpo Culture & Arts Center under the theme "A Table Set by Nature, the Future of Sustainable Gourmet Industry in Namdo" and will run until October 26. The county strategically set up its promotional booth at the entrance of the K-Food Industry Pavilion, actively promoting the various investment advantages of the industrial complex to gourmet industry professionals and visitors. In particular, the use of status boards and detailed brochures garnered a strong response from prospective entrepreneurs.

The county highlighted the geographic advantages and exceptional support benefits of the industrial complex as its main promotional points. It emphasized the excellent accessibility, being just two minutes from the Okgwa Interchange on the Honam Expressway, as well as the connectivity to nearby major cities such as Gwangju and Suncheon, which provides advantages for securing sales markets and attracting skilled talent.

The county also provided detailed explanations of various subsidy support programs for tenant companies. These included: up to 20 billion won for newly established or expanded local investment companies; up to 5 billion won in site and facility subsidies; up to 1 billion won in employment and training subsidies; and up to 300 million won in subsidies for improving working conditions-practical incentives that captured the interest of companies.

Since announcing the lot sales for the industrial complex on April 10, the county has promoted the project at events such as the Korea Beer Expo and the Busan International Food Expo, as well as at the Gokseong World Rose Festival and the 2025 Gwangju Food Fair, steadily raising nationwide awareness.

The Ungok Specialized Agricultural and Industrial Complex is being developed in Ungok-ri, Osan-myeon, Gokseong County, covering a total area of 182,590 square meters (with 106,539 square meters designated as industrial land). The project is on track for completion in the first half of next year. Of the total 25 lots, 20 are designated for the food manufacturing sector, 3 for the manufacture of electronic components, computers, and communication equipment, and 2 for the manufacture of electrical equipment.

A county official stated, "Despite challenging economic conditions, we are conducting customized consultations with more than 16 companies that have expressed interest in moving in, and we will strive to secure successful contracts. We aim to complete the lot sales for the industrial complex as early as possible to inject new vitality into the region."
