[Breaking] Teacher Myung Jaewan Sentenced to Life in First Trial for Murder of Elementary School Student

The 12th Criminal Division of the Daejeon District Court, presided over by Judge Kim Byungman, sentenced Myung Jaewan to life imprisonment on October 20 for violating the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes (for profit-motivated abduction and enticement, among others) and for murder. Previously, during the sentencing hearing on September 22, the prosecution had requested the death penalty.
