Until November 18...
To Be Used as Foundational Data for Policy-Making
Jinan County in North Jeolla Province will conduct the "2025 Population and Housing Census" from October 22 to November 18.
According to the county on October 20, the Population and Housing Census is a national basic statistical survey conducted every five years. It comprehensively examines the size of the population, household characteristics, and housing conditions in South Korea, serving as foundational data for various policy-making processes.
This year’s survey will cover 20 percent of sample households within the county, as well as dormitories and social facilities. To enhance convenience for residents and improve survey quality, the county will operate a non-face-to-face survey period from October 22 to 31, during which participants can respond via the internet, mobile devices, or by phone.
During this period, households that received a notification letter from Statistics Korea can participate directly. For households that do not take part in the non-face-to-face survey, enumerators will visit from November 1 to 18 to conduct in-person interviews.
Notably, to reduce the burden on the public, 13 items will be replaced with administrative data, and seven new items-including family caregiving time and marriage plans or intentions-have been added, making a total of 55 items in the survey.
A county official stated, "The Population and Housing Census is used solely for statistical purposes in accordance with Article 33 of the Statistics Act, and personal information is strictly protected. As this year marks the 100th anniversary of the Population and Housing Census, we kindly ask for the active participation of all residents and encourage the use of non-face-to-face survey methods whenever possible to ensure the successful implementation of the census."
