According to the county on October 20, the Agricultural Machinery Rental Office is operated to reduce the burden of purchasing expensive agricultural machinery by allowing farmers to rent equipment at affordable prices, and to increase the mechanization rate of farm work in areas facing labor shortages.

The main branch of the Agricultural Machinery Rental Office in Neungju opened in September 2009, and the Dongbok branch opened in May 2014. The Chunyang branch is scheduled to begin operations next month.

The construction of the new Chunyang branch was planned to distribute the steadily increasing volume of agricultural machinery rentals among the branches, and to make it easier and more convenient for residents in remote areas to rent agricultural machinery nearby. The project was carried out over four years from 2022 to this year, with a total project cost of 4 billion won.

A two-story building (total floor area of 980 square meters) has been newly built on an 8,315-square-meter site in Seokjeong-ri, Chunyang-myeon, providing storage and repair space for agricultural machinery, as well as a staff lounge and laundry room. In addition, a training room (capacity: 30 people) and a practice yard (area: 2,000 square meters) for the safe use of agricultural machinery have been established.

Currently, 58 units of 31 types of agricultural machinery (including cultivators) are available for rent. The county plans to further expand the rental infrastructure to provide a wider variety and greater number of agricultural machines in line with local demand.

Ryu Changsu, Director of the Hwasun Agricultural Technology Center, said, "With the opening of the Chunyang branch, we can now offer more accessible and convenient services, as well as balanced rental services. We will continue to do our best to operate the Agricultural Machinery Rental Office to help create a prosperous and affluent rural community."
