The fire authorities responded after receiving a report of a burning smell at Inha University Station on the Suin-Bundang Line.
According to the Incheon Fire Department, at around 3:01 p.m. on the 19th, a 119 emergency call was received reporting a burning smell at Inha University Station on the Suin-Bundang Line in Yonghyeon-dong, Michuhol-gu.
The fire authorities deployed 66 firefighters and 22 pieces of equipment, including pump trucks, to the site, restricted access to the station, and conducted a search operation.
The investigation found that the burning smell was believed to have entered from the air supply unit, which is part of the ventilation system, and it was confirmed that there was no fire.
Due to the 119 emergency call, trains in both directions at Inha University Station passed through without stopping for a time, but normal operations resumed at 4:52 p.m.
A fire department official stated, "Once the air supply unit was shut down, the burning smell disappeared," adding, "Facility officials will conduct a detailed investigation into the circumstances."
