Cafe Banda99 in Gyeongju Named No. 1 for Hospitality Among 70 Businesses in Bomun Complex

Gyeongbuk Culture and Tourism Corporation (President Kim Namil) announced on the 19th that it has successfully concluded its hospitality campaign aimed at providing global-level tourism services in anticipation of the successful hosting of the 2025 APEC Summit, and held an award ceremony to mark the occasion.

From April to September, over a six-month period, Gyeongbuk Culture and Tourism Corporation conducted the "You are our Hero!" hospitality campaign targeting around 70 tourism businesses (including restaurants and cafes) within the Bomun Complex. The purpose of this campaign was to re-highlight tourism industry workers, who greet visitors on the front lines, as key drivers of tourism development, to strengthen their sense of responsibility for service ahead of the 2025 APEC Summit, and to enhance visitor satisfaction.

This campaign was especially meaningful as it was conducted through a voting process in which tourists visiting the Bomun Complex participated directly. To ensure fairness, mystery shopper evaluations were also carried out twice, in July and September, for the top five businesses.

As a result of the tourists' votes, Cafe Banda99 (President Jung Yejin) was selected as the top hospitality business, and an employee from the same establishment also took first place in the individual hospitality staff category.

On the 17th, the corporation held an award ceremony for outstanding businesses at Cafe Banda99, presenting plaques of appreciation and prize money to the recipients in recognition of their dedication. In addition, the corporation urged for continued efforts to further enhance the hospitable image of the Bomun Tourism Complex in the future.

President Kim Namil stated, "This has become an important opportunity to raise the sense of responsibility for tourism services on the ground ahead of the 2025 APEC Summit," and added, "We will continue to do our best to spread global-level hospitality services, elevate the image of the Bomun Tourism Complex, and contribute to revitalizing regional tourism."
