Hwacheon County to Subsidize Up to 70% of Logistics Costs for Farms, Crop Groups, and Corporations
Direct Transaction Parcel Delivery Fees for Hwacheon Specialty Products Supported Up to 2,500 Won Per Case
Hwacheon County in Gangwon Province will provide logistics cost support for the shipment of agricultural products produced in Hwacheon, aiming to reduce logistics expenses for local farmers and diversify market channels.
The county will support logistics costs for shipments made by local farms, crop groups, agricultural corporations, and agricultural cooperatives to wholesale markets and retail agricultural corporations for the period from November last year to October this year.
Support will be provided for system shipments and military supply shipments when the prices of key agricultural products, such as cucumbers and pumpkins, reach a certain level.
For logistics costs related to shipments by individuals and groups, 70% of the expenses will be subsidized, and when using personal vehicles for transportation, 70% of the actual calculated cost will be provided.
Additionally, if the shipment volume decreases to the extent that vehicle operation becomes impossible and the agricultural cooperative assigns a vehicle, part of the transportation fee will also be subsidized.
Applications for logistics cost support can be submitted in person at the County Agricultural Policy Division or by email until November 14.
Hwacheon County also provides annual support for small-scale direct transaction costs of Hwacheon’s local specialty agricultural products, not just for large-scale shipments to major buyers.
From November last year to October this year, the county has decided to subsidize up to 2,500 won per case for parcel delivery fees used by local farmers and producer organizations (crop groups and corporations).
Eligible applicants are those registered as agricultural business operators who have resided in Hwacheon County for at least one year, are engaged in farming, and sell directly produced Hwacheon agricultural products and processed foods to consumers outside the region using parcel delivery services.
The support rate is up to 50% (2,500 won) of the parcel delivery fee per case, based on a standard fee of 5,000 won per case. (For a delivery fee of 4,000 won, 2,000 won will be subsidized.)
The maximum support limit is up to 300 cases per individual farm and up to 600 cases per producer organization (including corporations).
Parcel delivery fees within Hwacheon and cash-on-delivery fees are excluded from support.
If the sale is accompanied by telemarketing, up to an additional 200 cases can be subsidized upon submission of supporting documents.
Choi Moonsun, the governor of Hwacheon County, stated, "We will continue to provide support for logistics and parcel delivery fees to offer practical help to farm management."
