"Enduring Through the Bible and Prayer"
Jang Donghyuk, leader of the People Power Party, visited Seoul Detention Center on October 17 and met with former President Yoon Sukyeol for about 10 minutes.
On October 18, Jang shared on his Facebook page, "Yesterday morning, I had the opportunity to meet President Yoon Sukyeol," adding, "Even in these difficult circumstances, he is enduring steadfastly through the words of the Bible and prayer."
He continued, "Now it is time for us to unite and fight together," and called for collective action "to protect the free Republic of Korea, which is being shaken by the leftist administration, and to restore peace for the people."
The meeting was conducted under the standard visitation procedure, and Supreme Council member Kim Minsu accompanied Jang. It is reported that the two spoke with former President Yoon for about 10 minutes starting at 11:10 a.m. that day.
During the party leadership election, Jang had pledged, "If elected, I will visit former President Yoon at an appropriate time." He previously applied for a special visit, but the detention center denied the request, citing the schedule of the special prosecutor's investigation. This meeting took place after former President Yoon allowed a regular visit from Jang and Supreme Council member Kim.
