The Jongno K Festival will continue through October 19 at Gwanghwamun Square and throughout Jongno, featuring a variety of K-culture programs, including exhibitions, educational sessions, hands-on experiences, and promotions. On October 18 at 6:30 p.m., a finale concert will be held, featuring singers Myur, BMK, and Greg, who will present collaborative performances blending Korean traditional music, jazz, and blues.

The opening stage on October 17 began with a beautiful performance by soprano Hwang Jimin and a musical presentation by the orchestra of Sangmyung University. The special program “K-Dochoi” followed, featuring a creative ballet by the Yunbyeol Ballet Company inspired by traditional folk characters such as Satgat, Nolbu, and the Grim Reaper. A futuristic runway show, jointly presented by a leading hanbok designer from Jongno and an AI creator, also received enthusiastic applause from the audience.

The opening ceremony was broadcast live on the large electronic display of the KT WEST building, turning the event into an open festival enjoyed by citizens and tourists who filled the Gwanghwamun area.

Jung Moonheon, mayor of Jongno-gu, stated, “We have upgraded the festival by expanding its focus from hanbok to encompass all aspects of Korean culture, including Korean cuisine, traditional music, and hanji. I hope that citizens will have the opportunity to directly experience the diverse elements of our culture here in Jongno, the center of K-culture.”
