PPP Criticizes "Suspects Repatriated Before Urgent Rescue of Cambodian Victims"

On October 18, the People Power Party criticized the repatriation of Koreans who had been detained in Cambodia, stating, "Rescuing the victims is an urgent matter, yet the Lee Jaemyung administration is prioritizing self-promotion of its achievements and is bringing back suspects first, which is a 'contrarian response.'

Cho Yongsul, spokesperson for the People Power Party, said in a commentary that day, "A response in line with common sense would be to rescue the victims first and protect the lives of our citizens."

Spokesperson Cho stated, "The Lee Jaemyung administration, in its rush to claim achievements, repatriated suspects detained in Cambodia by chartered flight instead of rescuing the victims. Among them are individuals on the Interpol Red Notice list, which is the highest level of international wanted status for serious crimes. Bringing these individuals back quickly should not be packaged as an achievement in 'protecting the people.'"

Spokesperson Cho added, "Do not disguise non-urgent achievements as swift responses; instead, immediately implement practical measures to rescue the victims. Who is behind these criminal organizations that caused such delays in the response? The patience of the people has already reached its limit."
