[2025 Audit] Kim Junyoung, Gyeonggi Nambu Police Chief, Suspended Over 'Martial Law Election Commission Police Deployment'

Kim Junyoung, former Commissioner of the Gyeonggi Nambu Provincial Police Agency, who is suspected of deploying police officers to the National Election Commission and other institutions during the December 3 Martial Law last year, has been suspended from his position.

According to data received by Park Jeonghyun, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, from the National Police Agency on the 17th, Kim was suspended from his post last month, taking into account the fact that he is a subject of the special prosecutor's investigation.


Kim, who holds the rank of Commissioner General, is accused of participating in the martial law by ordering the deployment of police units to the Gwacheon Election Commission office and the Suwon Election Training Institute in Gyeonggi Province immediately after the declaration of martial law.
