At the KG Steel Incheon plant, a subcontracted worker was killed and another was injured after being struck by a falling heavy object.
According to the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency's Criminal Investigation Unit, at approximately 11:23 a.m. on October 17, two workers in their 40s, identified as A and B, were hit by a heavy object at the KG Steel Incheon plant in Seo-gu.
As a result of the accident, A died, while B was injured and received medical treatment at a hospital.
It was confirmed that both workers were employed by a subcontractor and were injured when a heavy object being moved by an overhead crane in the factory fell.
The Central Regional Employment and Labor Office ordered a suspension of operations at the plant and plans to conduct an investigation under the Serious Accidents Punishment Act and other relevant laws.
