[2025 National Audit] Police to Consider Investigation into 'Prince Group Suspected Behind Cambodia Operations'

The police have announced that they will consider launching an investigation into suspicions that the 'Prince Group,' which has been sanctioned by the United States and the United Kingdom for engaging in fraud and human trafficking in Cambodia and other regions, has also operated an office in South Korea.

On October 17, during a National Assembly audit by the Public Administration and Security Committee, Yoo Jaeseong, acting Commissioner General of the Korean National Police Agency, responded to a question from Beomsoo Seo, member of the People Power Party, by stating, "We will thoroughly verify the facts and the National Office of Investigation will review whether to launch an investigation."


According to Assemblyman Seo Beomsoo's office, 'Prince Real Estate Group,' a real estate affiliate of the Prince Group, indicates on its website that it has a Korean office in Sunhwa-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul.


Assemblyman Seo stated, "It is said that the Sunhwa-dong office has been temporarily closed and that they are now setting up an office in Gangnam. They are operating under a new name, 'Kingsman Real Estate Group.'" He further emphasized, "While protecting our citizens in Cambodia and requesting investigative cooperation are important, it is also essential to conduct a thorough investigation into the domestic activities of this criminal organization." He pointed out the need to secure information on real estate purchases, sources of funds, overseas remittance records, and cryptocurrency transaction records of the Prince Group and its affiliates.
