Ulsan Tap Water Goraesu Meets All Drinking Water Quality Standards

Ulsan Waterworks Headquarters Reports September Water Quality Test Results

The Ulsan Waterworks Headquarters reported that the results of tap water quality tests conducted in Ulsan during September met the national standards for drinking water quality in Korea.

The water quality tests covered the tap water from the Hoeya and Cheonsang Water Purification Plants, with a total of 60 items tested.

According to the detailed test results, all four microbiological items-including general bacteria, total coliforms, and Escherichia coli-and all twelve harmful inorganic substances-including ammoniacal nitrogen, nitrate nitrogen, fluoride, heavy metals, and boron-were found to be 'not detected,' 'suitable,' or 'below the standard value.'

In addition, all seventeen items for health-hazardous organic substances-including phenol, benzene, and carbon tetrachloride-were 'not detected.' All eleven items related to disinfectants and disinfection by-products-including residual chlorine, total trihalomethanes, and chloroform-were also measured as 'not detected' or 'below the standard value.'

Furthermore, all sixteen items related to aesthetic factors-including odor, taste, color, and turbidity-were each found to be 'not detected,' 'suitable,' or 'below the standard value.'

Additionally, water quality tests were conducted on a total of 114 facilities, including household taps and reservoirs, selected based on the water supply population in each district. All were found to be compliant with water quality standards.

An official from the Waterworks Headquarters stated, "We are doing our utmost to provide safe and drinkable tap water to citizens through regular monthly water quality inspections."
