Shinsegae Group announced on the 19th that it will hold its annual shopping festival, "SSG Day," from October 30 to November 9, featuring the full participation of its major online and offline affiliates.
This year marks the sixth SSG Day, and 18 major affiliates-including online platforms such as Gmarket and SSG.com, as well as Emart and Shinsegae Department Store-will take part. The group has prepared more than 2 trillion won worth of event merchandise, the largest volume ever. Starting with Emart, all online and offline channels-including department stores, SSG.com, Gmarket, and Shinsegae Casa’s online mall Good.com-will sequentially join the event.
Up to 50% Off on Food, Appliances, and Furniture
Emart has extended its event period by one day, running from October 30 to November 2. During this time, it will offer up to 50% off all Korean beef products through its "Korean Beef Day" promotion, as well as up to 50% off daily necessities and food items. Emart Everyday will also provide up to 40% off all Korean beef products.
From October 30 to November 9, Gmarket and Auction will offer four "signature special price items" exclusively at special prices: the Roborock Robot Vacuum Cleaner (S9 MaxV Ultra), Everland full-day passes, Peacock Tteokgalbi, and Kleenex toilet paper.
Shinsegae Casa will offer up to 50% off its popular Casamia sofa "Campo Series" and introduce the single recliner "Homme" in the 400,000 won range, providing special benefits for customers preparing for weddings or moving.
Starbucks will launch 25 types of Christmas season character goods to commemorate SSG Day, while Emart24 will introduce lunchboxes in collaboration with Michelin chefs. Shinsegae Food has planned SSG Day-exclusive products, such as the NBB Golden Katsu Burger and the Golden Mozza Katsu Burger.
Warehouse Blowout: A True Clearance Sale
One of this year's core keywords for SSG Day is "a true clearance sale." Shinsegae Group has designated SSG Day as the "official warehouse blowout day," offering products from each affiliate at reasonable prices.
First, Emart will sell 3,000 units of the iPhone 15 at a 30% discount, and Emart24 will offer up to 50% off smart TVs. Camping supplies will also be available at up to 50% off.
Shinsegae Casa will provide up to 80% off popular furniture and interior accessories, while Shinsegae Food will offer up to 40% off its dumpling products, such as Olban Kitchen King Gyoza, on SSG.com.
Additionally, clearance popup stores will be operated in offline spaces such as Starfield and Simon Outlet, giving customers the opportunity to enjoy both outings and shopping.
Starbucks will hold a clearance popup store at Starfield Suwon, which opens only once a year, offering discounts on popular Starbucks merchandise. Shinsegae L&B will open a wine and whisky clearance popup store at Starfield Goyang, offering premium wines and single malt whiskies at up to 60% off.
Furthermore, Shinsegae Simon will host a fashion brand clearance event at Yeoju Premium Outlet, with nine group affiliates and 30 brands, including Boon the Shop, Chicor, and W Concept, participating.
A Playground Full of Fun, Now an Emotionally Rich Cultural Festival
Shinsegae Group has expanded its programs that allow customers to participate and experience events firsthand. A key event is the nationwide poetry contest "SSG Literature Hall," themed around everyday healing, with outstanding works to be featured in Shinsegae Group advertisements and content.
In collaboration with Snow Peak, "SSG Day Sensibility Camping in Campfield" will be held at a campsite near Everland in Yongin from October 31 for two days, allowing participants to enjoy camping and cultural experiences. The event will feature cooking shows by famous chefs, tastings of Peacock meal kits, and a camping gear experience zone, with all participants receiving SSG Day limited-edition goods.
At Starfield, family-oriented events such as Supercell game tournaments, character parades, and jazz performances will take place. Shinsegae Department Store will host cultural performances in-store, and Simon Outlet will conduct charity bazaars and donation campaigns to promote sharing and warmth.
K-Shopping Festa with International Visitors
This year's SSG Day will also expand benefits for international tourists. By collaborating with overseas stores and partners, Shinsegae Group aims to elevate the status of K-shopping. Emart24 will hold an SSG Day prize event at its Malaysian stores, awarding Korean travel packages to local customers. Additionally, in cooperation with the Malaysia Tourism Board, a prize event for domestic customers will offer Kota Kinabalu tour packages.
A variety of promotions for visiting international tourists have also been prepared. Josun Hotels and JW Marriott will provide dining and leisure discounts for foreign guests, while Emart24 will offer up to 30% off popular items for international customers. Duty-free shops will give shopping support funds to social media followers.
