Uiseong County Successfully Holds
Daycare Native English Speaker Classroom 'Family Day' Event
Uiseong County announced that on the 16th, it successfully held the 'Daycare Native English Speaker Classroom Family Day' event at Uiseong Gymnasium, with over 300 participants including children from local daycare centers, their families, and teachers.
This event was an English experience-based sports festival designed to allow families to enjoy and naturally acquire English together, applying what the children have learned in the native English speaker classroom.
The event site, where native English teachers, parents, and children mingled and communicated through English, was transformed into a vibrant space for experiential learning that combined education and play.
The 'Native English Speaker Classroom' is a program in which Uiseong County dispatches native English teachers to local daycare centers once a week to provide basic English education, as well as hands-on activities in various subjects such as science, cooking, and art, all conducted in English. The program is designed to help young children become naturally familiar with English in their daily lives and increase their interest in learning.
The event was organized by the entrusted operator, Insik and Sasil Co., Ltd., with native English teachers serving as hosts, conducting the program in both English and Korean to create an engaging atmosphere.
Kim Jusu, Mayor of Uiseong County, said, "It was a meaningful time for the children to experience and enjoy English together with their families," and added, "We will continue to expand various educational and experiential programs so that young children can naturally encounter and learn English in their daily lives."
This 'Family Day' went beyond simple English learning, providing a space where children played and laughed with their parents in English, truly experiencing it as a 'language of communication.' It is a symbolic example of Uiseong County's childcare policy evolving, with English education approached not as a formal subject but as a part of culture and play.
