The 68th Uiseong County Residents Sports Festival
A Moving Harmony Created by 10,000 Residents
Uiseong County announced on the 17th that the 68th Uiseong County Residents Sports Festival, held at Uiseong Sports Complex on the 15th, concluded successfully with the participation of around 10,000 residents.
This year’s sports festival placed greater emphasis on harmony rather than competition, and on communication rather than records, with events organized so that anyone in the county could participate and enjoy together.
Risky events were excluded, and the festival featured programs in which people of all ages and genders could come together. The venue was filled all day with laughter and cheers of encouragement.
The 18 teams representing each township and town captivated the audience during the opening ceremony by donning costumes, flags, and sculptures reflecting the unique characteristics of their respective regions.
Going beyond a simple parade, the event was praised as a “festival visualizing the pride of Uiseong residents,” serving as an opportunity to reaffirm the unity of the community.
This year’s festival included a variety of events, such as One-Heart Cooperative Volleyball.
County Governor Kim Jusu said, “This sports festival was a stage of harmony where residents laughed and ran together,” adding, “We will continue to build Uiseong as a place where communication and participation thrive, with residents at the center of our administration.”
