Successfully Hold "Small School, Big Sports Day" for Small School Coalition
The Uiseong Office of Education in North Gyeongsang Province, together with the Uiseong Junior Chamber (JC), successfully held the "Small School, Big Sports Day" for a coalition of small schools at the Uiseong Student Gymnasium on the 17th.
This event was organized to provide students with broader opportunities for physical activities and to promote the significance of an educational community where parents and the local community come together.
On this day, around 130 participants-including approximately 50 students from three small schools in the area and about 80 parents-embodied the values of "a small but strong school, a community that grows together."
The opening ceremony began with the national pledge and a student representative's oath, followed by a variety of athletic competitions.
Lee Usik, the superintendent of education, stated, "It was a meaningful occasion where students from small schools gained confidence through the sports day, and parents and the local community came together to experience a happy educational community." He added, "We will continue to actively support student-centered educational activities by leveraging the unique characteristics and strengths of small schools."
Though small in scale, the event was deeply moving. Amid the children's sweat and laughter, the hope of the small school educational community was firmly taking root.
