Pocheon City in Gyeonggi Province and the Pocheon Culture and Tourism Foundation will hold the 28th Pocheon Sanjeong Lake Myeongseongsan Silver Grass Flower Festival for three days from October 17 to October 19 at Sanjeong Lake Sculpture Park and the Myeongseongsan area.

This year's festival, held to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Sanjeong Lake, one of Pocheon's leading tourist attractions, will feature an opening ceremony attended by Pocheon Mayor Baek Younghyeon, Pocheon City Council Chairman Lim Jonghun, Provincial Assemblyman Kim Seongnam, Pocheon Culture and Tourism Foundation CEO Lee Junghyo, Festival Executive Committee Chairman Yang Daejong, and about 1,000 tourists.
Celebrating a century of Sanjeong Lake’s history, this year’s festival will offer visitors a special and memorable experience with a variety of new and diverse programs, including a water fireworks show, a lantern exhibition, nighttime landscape installations, the Silver Grass Carnival, and horseback riding experiences. In particular, the water fireworks show, prepared as a special program for the 100th anniversary, will take place at 7 p.m. on both October 17 and 18, while the lantern exhibition will continue until mid-November, even after the festival concludes.
The opening ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. on October 17 at the newly established Sanjeong Lake Sculpture Park, featuring performances by invited singers, the official opening event, the water fireworks show, the lantern exhibition, and various nighttime landscape installations.
Prior to the festival’s opening, Pocheon Mayor Baek Younghyeon expressed his gratitude for the efforts of local residents who have helped the Silver Grass Flower Festival grow into a source of civic pride, and said he expects this year’s festival to mark a meaningful beginning to the next 100 years of Sanjeong Lake.
