Gwangju City Council Environment and Welfare Committee Visits Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled The Environment and Welfare Committee of the Gwangju Metropolitan Council visited the Gwangju Regional Headquarters of the Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled on the 17th to hear about the current operations and discuss policies related to employment for people with disabilities. The Environment and Welfare Committee of the Gwangju Metropolitan Council, chaired by Choi Jihyun, visited the Gwangju Regional Headquarters of the Korea Employment Agency for the Disabled on the 17th to hear about the operational status and to observe the current state of employment policies for people with disabilities alongside agency officials. The purpose of the visit was to review the current status of employment for people with disabilities, check the progress of the agency's major projects, and listen to on-site challenges and suggestions for improvement.


During the meeting with agency officials, the committee members emphasized the importance of strengthening tailored employment support and vocational training to increase the employment rate of people with disabilities. They also exchanged a wide range of opinions on practical job creation measures for people with disabilities through active cooperation with the local community. The discussion focused on laying the foundation for people with disabilities to participate actively as members of the community.


Chairperson Choi Jihyun stated, "Creating an environment where people with disabilities can work stably is the first step toward social integration," and promised, "The council will continue to show interest and provide ongoing support to expand employment opportunities for people with disabilities in the Gwangju region."
