The People Power Party launched a fierce attack regarding the arrest of former Broadcasting and Communications Commission Chair Lee Jinsook during the National Assembly’s Public Administration and Security Committee audit on October 17.

Assemblywoman Lee Dalhee of the People Power Party criticized, "Who in the presidential office directly ordered the arrest of the former chair? Since democratization, it is hard to find any precedent where the physical freedom of a figure standing in opposition to the administration has been so forcefully restricted. President Lee Jaemyung took office while his trials were postponed due to multiple charges-what do you think the public will say about this?"
Assemblywoman Park Sumin of the People Power Party pointed out, "Arrest warrants were issued in rapid succession over two months, accumulating the number of warrants, and then they were executed. This should be seen as a premeditated arrest."
Assemblyman Seo Beomsoo of the People Power Party stated, "It is regrettable that the Democratic Party unilaterally refused to call the former chair as a witness. The original intent of the audit has been undermined. There is a saying that the one who hides is the culprit."
Assemblyman Seo added, "We requested the voluntary appearance of the Yeongdeungpo Police Station chief and the head of the second investigation division, who are related to this case. However, upon checking, it was confirmed that they did not appear at the audit. This raises suspicion that it was not their own decision, but rather that someone instructed them not to attend."
Yu Jaeseong, acting Commissioner General of the National Police Agency, said regarding the arrest of the former chair, "The investigation was conducted according to the law and due process."
