Leaders from Government, Industry, Academia, and Research Gather at Gijang Mulsan
Leaders from government, industry, academia, and research institutions in the Busan region gathered to assess the city.
On October 15, Pukyong National University (President Bae Sanghoon) held the "Talking About Busan" event at Gijang Mulsan in Gijang-gun, with leaders from Busan-based organizations in attendance.
Under the subtitle of the 5th White Shirt Brown Bag Meeting, 13 leaders from Busan's government, industry, academia, and research sectors participated to discuss current issues and future directions for the fisheries and maritime sectors in Busan.
Participants visited Gijang Mulsan, a leading local seafood company, to tour the facilities and discuss strategies for university-industry collaboration in research and development within the marine bio sector. They also explored ways to brand local seafood products and enhance their domestic and international recognition.
Attendees included President Bae Sanghoon, Seo Jongwoo (Policy Planning Advisor, Busan Metropolitan City), Kim Jongdeok (President, Korea Fisheries Resources Agency), Bae Jeongcheol (President, Korea Research Institute of Ship and Ocean Engineering), Cho Jeonghee (President, Korea Maritime Institute), Kim Minsu (CEO, Gijang Mulsan Co., Ltd.), Kim Hyunggyun (President, Busan Technopark), Seo Jonggun (President, Busan Technology Startup Investment Institute), Choi Imho (Director, Korea Fisheries Resources Agency), Yang Jaewook (President, Busan Paik Hospital), Lee Dohyun (CEO, AD Fisheries Co., Ltd.), Chae Jaeik (CEO, Interocean), and Kang Daeun (Secretary General, Global City Tourism Promotion Organization).
