Two South Koreans who had been detained in Cambodia have been additionally repatriated on a national carrier.

According to the National Police Agency, two South Koreans who had been detained by the Cambodian Immigration Department arrived on South Korean soil via Incheon International Airport on the morning of October 17. With four out of a total of 63 detainees now repatriated, 59 remain in custody.


It has been reported that these individuals were apprehended during a crackdown on criminal complexes by Cambodian police. A police official stated, "We are continuing negotiations to ensure the swift repatriation of the remaining detainees," adding, "However, the repatriation plan has not yet been finalized."


The Cambodian National Police announced in a statement the previous day that, in cooperation with the South Korean Embassy in Cambodia, they plan to deport the remaining 59 South Korean detainees to their home country on October 17 (local time).


The South Korean government is reportedly coordinating with local authorities to deploy a chartered flight in order to bring back all detained citizens at once.
