Mayor Shin Sangjin Attends Theme Park Opening Ceremony in Daewon Park
Renovated After More Than 50 Years... Reborn as an Open Space for All Generations

Shin Sangjin, mayor of Seongnam City, attended the "Theme Park Opening Ceremony in Daewon Park" held in the Jungwon District area on the 16th.

The opening ceremony was held in two parts. The first part took place at 4:00 p.m. at the Seongnam-dong Children's Forest Playground (opposite Seongnam Middle School), and the second part was held at 5:00 p.m. at the Hadaewon-dong Reading Plaza (opposite Jungwon Youth Center).

In his commemorative speech, Mayor Shin stated, "It is very meaningful that a space has been created where people can enjoy leisure and children can play, given the reality that there have been few well-developed parks in Jungwon District." He added, "After more than 50 years, Daewon Park has been reborn as an open space that enhances accessibility and allows all generations, from children to seniors, to enjoy together, from the barefoot loess trail to the Children's Forest Playground."

He continued, "We will continue to make improvements so that it develops into a comfortable resting place for all citizens to enjoy. I sincerely thank everyone who participated in the construction and all the residents who endured the inconveniences."

After the ceremony, Mayor Shin toured newly established facilities such as the observatory rest area and listened directly to citizens' opinions.

The city has created specialized theme spaces in each area of Daewon Park, focusing on sections that had not yet been developed: the Seongnam-dong Children's Forest Playground and Observatory Rest Area, the Hadaewon-dong Scenic Waterfall and Reading Plaza, and the Jungang-dong Morning Garden and Hydrangea Garden.
