Seven Honorees Recognized for Contributions to Local Youth Policy
A Vibrant Festival Featuring BewhY's Performance, Employment Lectures, and Experience Booths
Gumi City in North Gyeongsang Province will hold the '2025 Youth Day Commemoration Event' on October 17 at the central courtyard parking lot of the Geumo Technovalley.
This event is a 'festival led by youth,' planned and operated directly by young people. It will feature a variety of programs that showcase the passion and participation of local youth.
During the commemorative ceremony, seven individuals who have contributed to the development of youth policies in Gumi will be awarded commendations.
The awardees include Hwang Kyungup, Chairperson of Gumi Junior Chamber, and Jung Dawoon, Vice President of Seonsan Junior Chamber, among others. They were recognized for their successful leadership in youth-driven events such as the 'Gumi Infant Car Walking Festa' and the 'Gumi City University Harmony Festival,' which have contributed to the revitalization of local youth policies.
At the event venue, promotional and experience booths will be operated by local young entrepreneurs, university student councils, and youth organizations.
Youth participants will introduce their ongoing projects and communicate directly with visitors, sharing creative ideas.
There will also be special employment lectures and a youth matchmaking program, providing an opportunity for young people to discuss and address real-life concerns together.
The stage program will highlight the energy and talents of young people.
In addition to a performance by hip-hop artist BewhY, local youth art teams such as Sori Saem from Kumoh National Institute of Technology, the Inners dance team from Kyungwoon University, the Cheonmu Cheerleading Squad from Gumi University, and the Leori hip-hop team from Gumi Young Energy Project will deliver passionate performances.
The stage, combining music, dance, and hip-hop, is expected to further elevate the excitement of the festival.
Kim Jangho, Mayor of Gumi, stated, "This Youth Day event is especially meaningful because it is created and led by youth themselves. The passion and challenges of young people will be the driving force that brightens the future of Gumi, and the city will continue to implement policies that grow together with our youth."
