Asia Cement Develops Special Concrete "Acon-Cold" for Severe Cold Weather

Asia Cement announced on October 16 that it has developed and completed performance verification of its special concrete product, "Acon-Cold," which ensures quality even during severe cold weather conditions.

This product enables concrete poured during the winter season to achieve strength in a short period of time, whereas conventional concrete would require several days or even weeks at low temperatures. Without the need for accelerated thermal curing, it is possible to secure the initial strength necessary to prevent early frost damage and to remove formwork even in winter. Asia Cement developed this technology in collaboration with major partners such as Shinil CM, Sanha Industry, and Heungkuk Industry.

On September 17, the joint developers verified the product's performance through a mock-up test. The test results showed that the product demonstrated high initial strength even in cold conditions at -10°C, and exhibited high compressive strength in insulated curing specimens.

The industry expects this technology to reduce construction risks during the winter season, as well as to shorten construction periods and reduce costs. A representative involved in the joint development stated, "This product eliminates the need for accelerated thermal curing using external heat sources, while simultaneously meeting requirements for eco-friendliness, efficiency, and safety. It will serve as an optimized solution for construction sites in severe cold weather."
