A Venue for Unity and Communication Bringing Together All 10 Towns and Townships
From 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on October 25
Geumsan County will host the first Geumsan County Citizens Sports Festival, integrating all 10 towns and townships, at the Geumsan County Sports Complex on October 25.
This event marks the first time that the sports festivals, previously held individually by each town and township, have been combined into a single festival for all residents to participate together.
In particular, the festival will be organized as a participatory event focused on enjoyment rather than competition, with an emphasis on strengthening communication and unity among residents.
The opening ceremony will feature invited performances, introductions of the towns and townships, an opening address, congratulatory remarks, a cheering video presentation, and the lighting of the torch.
For the main competitions, teams from the 10 towns and townships of Geumsan County will compete in four sports events-gateball, foot volleyball, table tennis, and hangung-as well as six traditional games, including yutnori, group jump rope, jegichagi, arm wrestling, tuho, and strength contests, showcasing their skills and passion.
Additionally, food booths and experiential programs for both athletes and spectators will be set up around the venue and parking lots, contributing to a lively and enjoyable festival atmosphere.
Park Beomin, Mayor of Geumsan County, stated, "This sports festival will be a harmonious gathering where all residents can come together, laugh, and enjoy themselves," adding, "I hope this meaningful event will offer our residents a chance to take a break from their busy daily lives, experience renewed energy, and strengthen their sense of community."
