[Tomorrow's Weather] Nationwide Clouds and Rain... Heavy Rain of 20mm per Hour in Chungcheong and Southern Regions

On Thursday, the 16th, the entire country is expected to be mostly cloudy, with rain falling in most regions until the morning.


Jeju Island is forecast to experience heavy rain of around 20 mm per hour until the morning, while the Chungcheong region and southern provinces are expected to see strong rainfall between the early morning and morning hours.


In the Gyeongsang region (excluding the eastern coast of North Gyeongsang and the northeastern mountainous areas) and Jeju Island, rain is expected to continue until the afternoon. In the Yeongdong region of Gangwon, the eastern coast of North Gyeongsang, and the northeastern mountainous areas, rain may persist until nighttime.


The total expected precipitation over the two days of the 15th and 16th is 20 to 70 mm for Jeju Island; 20 to 60 mm for the Yeongdong region of Gangwon, Chungcheong, Jeolla, and Gyeongsang; 10 to 50 mm for the five West Sea islands; and 10 to 40 mm for the Seoul metropolitan area, Yeongseo region of Gangwon, Ulleungdo, and Dokdo.

Morning lows will range from 15 to 21 degrees Celsius, higher than average for this time of year, while daytime highs will be between 19 and 27 degrees Celsius, similar to or slightly above the seasonal average.


Wave heights in the East Sea and South Sea coastal waters will range from 0.5 to 2.0 meters, and from 0.5 to 1.5 meters in the West Sea coastal waters.


In offshore areas (up to about 200 km from the coastline), wave heights are expected to reach 1.0 to 2.5 meters in the East Sea, 0.5 to 2.0 meters in the West Sea, and 0.5 to 2.5 meters in the South Sea.
