Kim Hyoju: "We Need to Pay More Attention to the Wind"

Attends BMW Ladies Championship Official Press Conference
Riding Momentum with Two Runner-Up Finishes in Last Five Tournaments
"I Want to Win Since the Tournament Is Being Held in Korea"

Kim Hyoju identified the wind as a key factor in determining the winner.

On October 15, at the official press conference for the BMW Ladies Championship (total prize money: $2.3 million) of the LPGA Tour, held at Pine Beach Golf Links (par 72, 6,785 yards) in Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do, she said, "Although there is a rain forecast, I think we need to pay more attention to the wind than to the rain. After practicing for a few days, I noticed that strong winds blow in areas overlooking the sea. It is expected to be especially windy over the weekend, but I will do my best to overcome it."

Kim Hyoju: "We Need to Pay More Attention to the Wind" Kim Hyoju is expressing her thoughts on participating at the official press conference for the BMW Ladies Championship. Provided by the BMW Ladies Championship Organizing Committee.

Ranked eighth in the world, Kim Hyoju is considered a strong contender for the title in this tournament. She claimed victory at the Ford Championship in March and has been on an upward trajectory, finishing as runner-up twice in her last five tournaments, including the Lotte Championship, which concluded on October 5. To focus on this event, she took time to rest and recharge after the Lotte Championship.

Kim Hyoju said, "Although I have missed out on winning several times by a narrow margin, I am maintaining a good sense of form. Since the tournament is being held in Korea, my desire to win is stronger than ever." If Kim Hyoju wins this tournament, she will become the second player this season to claim multiple victories, following world number one Atthaya Thitikul of Thailand. In the current LPGA Tour season, until Thitikul achieved her second win at the Buick LPGA Shanghai, which ended on October 12, every tournament had a different winner.

Kim Hyoju commented, "In the past, there were players who consistently posted outstanding results, but now it seems that all the players' skills have become quite similar. It feels like luck often determines who wins." This tournament is the second event of the LPGA Tour's Fall Asian Swing and will be held over four days from October 16. A total of 78 players will compete for the winner's prize of $345,000, with no cut. The defending champion is Hannah Green of Australia.
