Cambodian Court Approves Joint Autopsy for Korean University Student Who Died After Torture

The police will participate in a joint autopsy for a university student in his twenties who was detained, tortured, and died in Cambodia.

According to the National Police Agency on October 15, the only step remaining is to coordinate the schedule with the local police after receiving approval for a joint autopsy from the Cambodian court.

Previously, Yoo Jaeseong, Acting Commissioner General of the National Police Agency, explained that the process takes time because, when requested through the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Korea, it must go through decisions by the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Justice, and the court.
